How much does workspace cost in Basel? And why it is more favorable to rent workspace?
Workplaces for up to 20 employees only pay off through utilisation, economies of scale and depreciation over several years. Costs for Offices are often underestimated
In addition to rental costs, there are the charges for utilities. These amount roughly to around 15% of the price per square metre and include the costs for heating, cooling, hot water as well as operating costs such as caretaking and external cleaning for example.
If the office is rented as a shell, finishing costs are required. These are between CHF 1,500 and CHF 2,000 per square metre, which must be depreciated over the term of the contract - the shorter the rental period, the higher the annual charge. In other words: the higher the flexibility, the higher the monthly depreciation costs. The meeting rooms also play a role: they require valuable square metres, are hardly used to capacity and place an above-average burden on the equipment budget.
In addition to the fitting costs, there are the costs for the furniture. A workstation with table, chair and storage space costs between 1'000 and 1'500 CHF.
The costs for technical infrastructure (internet, printer, etc.), office equipment (whiteboards, flip charts, etc.), various other consumables, beverages (coffee, tea, water, etc.), and internal cleaning & maintenance costs.
